Seana Dishun spent many years as a founding member of Blue Lotus Tribe before deciding to focus more locally in her adopted hometown of Madison, WI. In 2006, she founded Ashar Dance Company, Madison's only tribal bellydance troupe. Her 16 years of bellydance - including certification in Suhaila Salimpour's format - as well as her even longer history of ballet, jazz and modern dance training, are evident in both her teaching style and performances. Seana is currently pursuing her degree in dance at UW Madison. With the experience and knowledge she gains through her studies, she hopes to facilitate the integration of bellydance, especially tribal style, into the greater world of professional dance. Seana is proud to be serving, alongside Christina of Blue Lotus Tribe, as a guest artist at her alma mater, Beloit College in the fall of 2008!
