Karen Hersh of Gypsy Queens began dancing originally in the late 80’s and early 90’s with a modern dance instructor in Oak Park and then went on to study with the company, Deeply Rooted, in 1995, where she continued to study modern, as well as ballet and Dunham. Karen performed with Deeply Rooted in various productions through 1999. She found American Tribal in 2000 and fell in love with the style.
